The Mumbai Chess Foundation is a social initiative by Mumbai Chess Centre, established with a strong commitment to provide free, high-quality chess training to talented children from municipal schools across Mumbai.
We believe that talent exists everywhere, but opportunity does not. Through chess, we aim to nurture focus, discipline, confidence, and critical thinking in young minds, enabling them to unlock their true potential.
Management & Leadership
The Mumbai Chess Foundation is managed by Yash Sunil Dalal, an International Chess Player and a passionate chess enthusiast dedicated to grassroots chess development.
Yash Sunil Dalal is currently a Class 11 student at the American School of Bombay. His education has played a key role in shaping his global outlook, discipline, and commitment to excellence—values he actively brings into the foundation’s vision and day-to-day operations.
With hands-on involvement, he oversees:
- Talent identification
- Training structure and curriculum
- Mentorship of young players
- Competitive exposure and long-term development
